How to Figure & Table Builder

What this tool does

Turn any CSV or Excel data into a publication-quality figure or table and export it as high-resolution PNG, vector SVG, or PDF. Everything runs locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Getting started

Load data — drop a CSV/Excel file, or click Load sample data to explore with a worked example. Columns are auto-classified as numeric or categorical.
Switch between the Figure and Table tabs at the top. Reset · load new data clears everything and returns to the import screen.

Figures

Type & data: choose Line, Scatter or Bar, then pick the X column and add one or more Y series. By default the first column is the X axis.
Per-series control: each series has its own colour, line width and legend label.
Error bands: next to each series, pick a column of ± values (e.g. SD) to draw a shaded band; set its colour and the global band opacity.
Axes & units: set titles and units, with super/subscripts via the braced syntax ^{-2} → ⁻² and _{2} → ₂ (quick-insert buttons provided). Control gridlines, legend, ranges, fonts and colours.
Output size: set the aspect ratio first, then width/height in mm — or pick a journal/slide preset.

Tables

Columns: tick the columns to include (All / None / Numeric only), and per column set the header, unit, alignment and decimals.
Grouping: group rows by a column either as heading rows or as a vertical merged column.
Summaries: add Column summary stats as rows at the bottom, and/or Row summary stats as columns at the right (Mean, Mean ± SD, Median, Mode, SD, IQR, Q1–Q3, CoV, 95% CI).
Export: PNG / SVG / PDF, plus Copy for Word (formatted) and CSV.

Tips

For a fully editable vector figure, export SVG and open it in Illustrator or Inkscape. PNG/PDF are raster at the chosen DPI.
Underscores in column names (e.g. N_total) are preserved — only the braced ^{}/_{} forms become super/subscripts.
